New Crysis Interview E-mail
Thursday, 13 December 2007
Planet Crysis published a new Interview with Sten Huebler (Lead Level Designer), Sven Metzger (Community Manager) and Alexander Marschal (Community Manager).  Some new information included about upcoming patches as well !

Crytek seems to be heavily supporting the modding community. Was this something planned from early on or lessons learned from FarCry?

Alex: This was planned from early on. We already had a strong and committed FarCry modding community and we wanted to extend and intensify our support in this area. Modding is one of the keys that keep a game alive and it is also a nice opportunity to find talented people for hire.

Crytek recently announced the first patch for the game is coming soon. Will these patches be very frequent or more spaced out like other games tend to be?

Alex: We don’t have a specific plan how many patches we want to release and when they are going to be sent out. We try to gather as much feedback as possible from the whole community and see what we can fix and/or add in one of the patches. Currently we are working on two patches, whereas the first one is scheduled to be released within the next few weeks and will address mainly performance issues. The second patch will be a content patch that addresses Singleplayer issues and of course Multiplayer bugs and suggestions the community already reported during the beta. In addition we will bring more balancing to the weaponry in Multiplayer and also add a few new features that have been requested by the community.
